This is another commisioned piece that I made for someone who wanted a baptism icon.

“Posse in effect” is my favorite Beastie Boys song. Check out how all these people including the band are moving and dancing around in this video. Great stuff!

Electric spy

“Early on many social networks impose fairly tough privacy policies in order to attract and reassure users. But as more join, controls are gradually loosened to encourage more sharing. As people share more, Facebook can increase the traffic against which it sells advertising. And the more it learns about users likes and dislikes, the better it can target ads that generate hundreds of millions of dollars.

Protests grew louder still following a developer’s conference last month at which Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s boss, announced yet another series of policy changes. One that caused irritation was an “instant personalisation” feature that let’s certain third-party websites access facebook data when people visit. Critics say that Facebook has made it tricky to disable this feature, which may explain why Ms.Stoddart (Canadas privacy commisioner) dislikes it so much.

European officials are grumbling about facebook too. This month a group of dataprotection experts who advise the European commision wrote to the social network, calling its decision to loosen the default settings “unaceptable”. And in the United States, the Electronic Privacy Information Centre, a non-profit group, has asked America’s Federal Trade Commission to see if Facebook’s approach to privacy violates consumer protection laws”

Le Bon Temps Roulé

Filed under: Main — Mackanlee @ 6:29 pm

This is a great bar in New Orleans called Le Bon Temps Roulé. They usually have live bands and on fridays they sometimes have free oysters. Isnt it an awesome way to get to know a city by hanging out in it´s bars? I love doing that. It´s a great way of meeting people and hearing kick ass music. Plus you could smoke inside, which is a bonus for a man like myself.

One of the great weird videos that has inspired me throughout the years.

3 things

Filed under: Main — Mackanlee @ 10:09 pm

1.

Here is a flic of me working in the new studio taken by Rip Roarin’ Mary Lou.

2.

I was recently contacted by a person who had bought this painting from me a long time ago(around 1999 or 2000). She said I had another one like it (except that it was red) that she wanted to buy as well. Gotta go down to the archives and see if I can find it!

3.

This is a telling picture of the very clueless reporting that goes on in the Swedish media about the war in Afghanistan. This article in the magazine Expressen tells us that we see Swedish foreign minister Carl Bildt (on the left) with Afghan president Hamid Karzai(on the right). Anyone who knows anything about Afghanistan knows that it’s not President Karzai (he is bald) in the picture. IDIOTS!

The arts community is often pioneers in symbolically protesting human rights violations that others find it inconvenient to mention. Artists are independent-minded and often financially independent, and so cannot easily be pressured.
